Bold and full-bodied, it tastes rich and malty for an uplifting answer to your yawns. African leaves give this Breakfast Tea big gutsy flavours from long, hot days on the plains. While finer Assam leaves bring a more delicate, complex taste. They’re both grown in organic gardens where the earth and wildlife can thrive. So, you feel good from the naturally protective antioxidants. And the planet gets to feel good too.
Kettle on before anything else happens. This is a big, malty, full-bodied cup, in a box of 20 bags that's just right for a first try or the kitchen cupboard. The gutsy African leaves grow through long, hot days on the plains, and finer Assam underneath gives it depth. The leaves are big, so give the bag a few minutes and you get a rich brew with enough body to take milk without disappearing into it.
You know how you like it: which mug, how strong, whether the milk goes first (it doesn't). We're exactly the same, which is probably why this one took us the longest to get right. Four minutes, not three. We like it strong.
Pour some freshly boiled water over a bag and infuse for 3-5 minutes – longer if you like it even stronger. The big leaves take a little time to infuse to give you the tastiest brew.
Use a drop of milk or cream for a rich, gutsy tea that will set you up for the day ahead.
