Winter Treats!

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

Winter is always a busy time in the tea world and this year has been no exception.  As the festive season approaches we decided to take some time out to recommend a few blends, which we hope will warm and relax you.

Biochai – a peppery blend made with cloves, lemongrass and root ginger.  Perfect to accompany that Christmas pudding!

White Tea – after all those mince pies and mulled wine, a good old detox will be the order of the day!  Our white tea has a light and ethereal taste and is packed with antioxidants.  What better way to refresh your system?

Earl Grey – during those cosy evening spent by the fireplace in refuge from the cold, there’s nothing better than to relax with a cup of our earl grey in hand.  Aromatic and smooth, also the winner of the Best Non – alcoholic Beverage at this year’s Organic Food Awards

The Awards Reception and Iced Teas!

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

Last week we attended the organic food awards reception at the Bordeaux Quay in Bristol, where a sumptuous meal was prepared by renowned chef Barnaby Haughton. The clever thing about it was that all the winning food  had been used as ingredients for the lunch (see below). Bizarrely, Hampstead Tea was used in the dessert to make “pairs in earl grey sauce” a unique combination, which worked remarkably well. Perhaps we should start thinking about launching Hampstead Desserts? Well, maybe…

The awards presentation ceremony followed lunch, and was hosted by celebrity comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli , who certainly did a great job keeping the room erupting in bursts of laughter. We collected our award, took our photos and then sadly it was time to hit the road back to London. It was a tremendous afternoon and hopefully we’ll get to go again!

We’ve recently been all guns ahead on the iced teas- some of you must have tried them already. Selfridges have always been one of our early adopters, and we’re currently doing a big display there, with some great deals. So if you’re in town, why not check it out?

Organic Food Award Winners!

Saturday, September 12th, 2009

times

We’re delighted to announce that our Earl Grey Leaf tea has won an Organic Food Award and that we got a whole article in The Times! Of course, we believe that our partner estates produce some of the world’s finest organic teas and we’re not the only ones who think so. Our Earl Grey is made from a careful blend of biodynamic darjeeling tea and natural oil of bergamot -  no artificial flavourings. Resulting in a smooth, aromatic and sophisticated tea.

Our white tea was also Highly Commended. This is a special handmade tea, tiny new leaves and buds are carefully hand picked and sun-dried, leaving the tea fresh and full of healthy antioxidants. Our white tea is deliciously sweet with a light silvery liquor. Known for its anti ageing benefits.
